Ending off
How in the world do you all end off your crochet items? I haven't seem to got that down? I still want to make a huge knot so it doesn't unravel if I wash it, since I am making a hot pad, or wash cloth or hand towel. But if I move into other items that you don't want to see the end, how is that done? You don't want it to unravel and I know you can go back and forth in and out of other stitches, but does that fully secure it?
Any suggestions and ideas would be great!

You can make a ch 1 pull the tail tight and then weave in the end it won't come out.

I've always had the same fear! If you do what Susann said it works well. Just remember to "sew" one way, change direction and go the same way you started and then lastly, go back the original way. I hope that makes sense.

I am the odd one with my ending off. I do two chains then pull the end. This really knots the yarn. Then weave ends first in one direction then the other. Everyone tells me the second chain is not necessary but I just feel more confident with it.

I don't like knots in my crocheting.
