Blanket Weight Yarn Graphgan

I want to make a graham with a football team logo, using a blanket weight yarn because it is so soft. I'm concerned it will not have the detail because if the bulkyness of the yarn.
Does anyone have experience doing this or has seen one completed?
My other thought was to make the blanket in bulky weight and just do the logo in worsted and insert it like a granny square or make the piece with the logo as wide as the blanket and have it like a wide edge.
Has anybody mixed the bulky and worsted weight yarns in one project?
