I need help in shaping neckline!

I'm a relatively new crocheter. I started the Lion Brand Vanna's Glamour Easy Sparkling Top. It is in a shell stitch which is really pretty. OK, I can do that. But the neckline comes straight across and is too high on my neck. Does anyone know how to shape it slightly lower or know where I can find such instructions for shell pattern? Help! I got in above my head!

I sew and when the front neckline is too high, I add 5/8" extra to the back neck shoulder seam, and subtract 5/8" from the front neck shoulder seam. This keeps the front from being too high up. Of course, the shoulder seam will be 5/8" lower in the front and the shoulder line placement line will be 5/8" higher to match the sleeve .
So maybe you might try adding an extra row to your back neck shoulder seam, and rip out a row on the front neck shoulder seam.
Try it, it just might work!
