I would have to take it to my wheel first. That it the first thing that popped into my head when I saw your picture. Does roving work well for crocheting?

For these extreme blankets you just use it as is, except for splitting it in half. Its not spun. I do twist it slightly while I crochet it.

I really like this. I'm not that "extreme". (lol) Great job!

It is very nice. I just can't help wanting to spin it. lol

Wow I like this. How much does this type of yarn cost? This would be so warm too.

This is 8 lbs of pure wool roving. I believe with shipping I paid 140.00. I will try to find the link. My hubby has RA and gets horrible fevers. I am hoping this will help him stay warm. It also wicks away moisture. People that have them say they are the best. They are not real durable though you wouldn't want to use them for every day use unless you put them on top of another blanket. Its an arm workout but so fun. The longest part is splitting the roving in two. You are supposed to do dry clean only or spot clean. Even though this is superwash and not supposed to felt; I have heard it will if you wash it.
Now I have seen some that lightly felt it before crocheting/knitting. And some that lightly felt after they make the blanket but putting them in a front load washing machine and putting it on gentle.
Bobbie Jo all my friends that spin say that! They wanted to spin it so badly lol.

I think this is pretty. I've never heard of 'extreme crocheting', though. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Thank you for the info. It would be awhile before I could afford. I have degenerative disc dis., and perif. neuropathy. I don't get fevers but I do hurt more when I get even chilly.
