I use more yarn than thread. Thread is harder to work with or at least it is for me.

I love to crochet with thread but hadn't for years until my daughter discovered doilies. Just finished two and working on a third one for her. I use a daylight lamp which helps a lot to see the stitches better.

I've made birthstone angels with #10 crochet cotton for years, and enjoy doing that for a change. It's also easier to take on a trip than countless skeins of #4 yarn.

I prefer yarn, but I have used thread. If I use thread it's usually a #3 or #5, the #10 is just tooo small for me.

Thread ruffle sock tops and Christmas tree angel ornaments
Oh I love to crochet with thread. You can easily take a project with you as they are so small. I love adding the cutest ruffle with little girls socks and I finish them with beads. Oh how cute. Or how about making beautiful thread angels for the Christmas tree. Great for gifts on both projects oh and by the way cheap to if your on a budget.

Barbara G
I have been crocheting with thread since day one. My grandmother taught me but she couldn't read directions. She gave me a doily to copy and showed me how to do the stitches. I was nine years old at that time. I am 78 and love to crochet with thread. It seems to me it more dainty and lacy. Hope you can master it because it rewarding when you see the results.
Good Luck and God bles
