How do you mark your crochet/knitting rows?

There are a variety of ways to mark your crochet or knitting rows. What is your favorite way?

Do any of you use homemade crochet or knitting markers? You are also welcome to post pictures of some of your markers here in this thread.

I'm an odd one, I prefer to use small safety pins.

I have always used bobbi pins not only for counting rows but I slide one on my pattern so I will know which row I am on

I usually use a piece of contrasting color yarn, but I now have these marvelous bead markers that Eva made for me, Sharon

I also use safety pins or bobby pins, can't see buying markers that I will probably lose.

Another tiny safety pin user here!

Safety pins of all sizes that don't have coils are widely available, usually at craft stores. Once in a while in a knitter's shop.

Sometimes, I'll use a little length of contrasting color yarn, mostly at points on edges that will join with another edge for seaming together.
Freedom is not the right to do as you please, but the liberty to do as you ought!

I used a coupon and bought a little package of Boye flexible round little markers that open and close. Or I sometimes use a contrasting piece of yarn.

If I have to mark a stitch, I cut a strand of scrap yarn that is a very visible different color and place it in/at the stitch and continue crocheting, then pull it out and place it on the next row. For me, it's a lot easier and quicker to just use a strand of yarn than to use a type of clip marker that I have to undo each row/round.
