I'm like BettyBee and Meerkat, I use bobby pins and for counting the foundation row I put safety pins in to keep count.

I use paper clips. The coated ones are colorful and easy to see and easy to slide on and off.

I used to use paperclips too. But after I had children they were too colorful and too easy to slide off. lol Maybe I can go back to them once my little ones are bigger

Hiya Ladies, I use a short chain marker.. I've made several colors, so that works well... You only need about 8-10 chains... Teresa

I also use a contrasting yarn myself - something that really stands out.

I use the pastic "safety pin" stitch markers available from hobby stores... When I am using a pattern that changes hook sizes, I used the letter markers from the Crochet Dude.
