    Drifting Seam

    Hi,

I am crocheting a hat and the sides are in HDC. It's looking pretty neat but the seam where I join a new round is traveling diagonally accross the hat to the right. Is this normal? I keep counting my stitches and I am now losing or gaining.....keeping the right amount (40) am I doing something wrong?

    Tis the season...for hats

It's normal It should jog a bit in the rounds you were increasing...if you don't like the look of the seam you can try the hidden seam method (picture tutorial here: Repeat Crafter Me: Crochet Owl Hat Pattern in Newborn-Adult Sizes ) or increase by a smaller number (ex: if you increased by 10's try 8's instead)

Hope that helps If you are still having problems take some pictures and I will try my best to help.
