    I know, I'm not quite there also, but sure looked interesting, so I put it on my "bucket list", right next to all the patterns I want to try after I finish my Tunic! LOL

    This is ingenious. Great use of Excel. I have trouble following down columns but I learned a great trick with Excel to help with that. called Freeze Panes. In my version of Excel it's an option on the View menu. Once you freeze a pane, that pane scrolls down with you. In case of small patterns it wouldn't make much difference. With larger ones, you would always be able to see the column number.
