Thanks Nova55, I will try that Russian Join way of joining my yarn when I get back to it in a few more minutes. It looks so simple. Thanks again. Patty

    Hi Patty,
    That's not the Russian Join.

I LOVE that!! Thanks so much! I've been just tying a knot, wrapping my tails around the working yarn and then trying to crochet all that bulk into my stitch. So cumbersome! And not very pretty either.

Hello Jean Marie, I have tried the Russian Join and I have mastered it and I love it. I haven't tried the other one, the magic knot, but I think I will try it also. Thanks for posting these videos, they are very useful. Love ya, Patty

i have tried both knots and the 2nd is smaller bump in thread but the first is stronger knot( less likely to loosen) in my opinion. I've just started using the 2nd one which i learned as bend the 1st yarn to form a loop and put end of 2nd yarn thru eye of loop and around outside of loop and then back thru eye of loop and pull tight, then you can cut loose ends quite close to knot.

    Hi Kitty,
Maybe I'll try that if I need to join yarn. I don't like the Russian Join because I don't like knots in my crocheting so when I join I pull the new yarn through the last loops of the old yarn and continue to crochet with the new yarn.
