    Magnificent Snowflakes!

Not sure if this site has already been mentioned here at the forum, but it's got absolutely spectacular crochet snowflakes, and all the instructions are FREE!! It's called "Snowcatcher."

For those of us in SoCal, where nary a snowflake ever fell, this is as close to them as we can get! (The "Cold Heart" one would be quite appropriate for Valentine's Day.)

Roe, I've used yarn snowflakes as an applique on sweaters: you can use fingering/sock weight if you don't want a real bulky flake, but even worsted looks good when it's for a winter sweater applique!

WOW! Even for those of us that are in snowy MN, these are really something. You could create your own blizzard by making one of each. Thanks for the great site.

I've used a strand of sparkly thread when I have done yarn ornaments. Keep forgetting that they can be made into appliques, would probably look good in thinner yarn on basic hats (I do a lot for charity and like to embellish hats, both for kids and adults.). Thanks for the reminder.
