    I have a question after you make your chain do you always chain an xtra 2 or 3 before you start your pattern?

    Hello - welcome to the group! It is great to have you on board!

    Are you using a pattern? Most patterns will tell you to chain a certain number of stitches, and then turn. I will tell you which stitch to start working on through the back. Of course, this will depend on why type of pattern you are working on.

    Hi Brenda!
    I usually just crochet the number the pattern calls for and then start the next row in the second chain from the hook. Adding a couple of stitches sometimes helps when you're turning a corner and you want to keep the corner from being rounded though.
