I love the larkstooth pattern for afghans. I have made quite a few of them with this stitch. It could be made with any color combination. check it out.

Thank you for starting this thread, I was needing some new afghan patterns myself, and this was fantastic to run across! I am going to start printing these out and make a notebook for myself. Look on http:www.Ravelry.com You may have to join, but there are tons of patterns there as well as crochet pattern central. Also, Patternfish, but don't think they are free. Google or Search Free Crochetted Afghan Patterns and it will lead you to tons of pattern links.
