Hello, Naknik14! I have been crocheting for --- gulp! ---- 57 years. I have taught a few people during that time and can only suggest at this point that you have lots of patience. Establish your tension and rhythm with the simple chain, single crochet. Don't worry about learning all the various stitches until you are comfortable with the basics. Also, try not to hold your hook with a death grip as this will cause uneven stitches and throw your gauge off. Stick with one pattern for awhile like a simple scarf. Hope this helps a little.

Hello and welcome to the forum Naknik14. One good tip I learned early in crochet when doing a scarf or blanket mark your end rows. By that I mean the last stitch seems to get lost or is difficult to see. Put a safety pin or a different color thread in the last stitch you do on each row. This will keep your ends straight. If you don't your square blanket or scarf might end up lopsided. Most of all have fun and enjoy what you have accomplished.
