    I'm New Here

    Happy New Year!

I am learning to crochet, teaching myself. I just mastered having a rectangle baby blanket look like a baby blanket, where all corners match correctly! This is a major accomplishment for me.

I am currently working on basic scarfs and baby blankets.

Any tips, suggestions, etc., will be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to "Crochet Talk". Everyone here are knowledgeable & willing to share. I, on the other hand am pretty much a novice. Maybe you can help me some day! I don't really understand how to read a lot of the things that I like to be able to crochet but, I never did learn to read patterns. I usually just make up my patterns & I'm okay with that. You could probably help me, Scooters

I can crochet a little but I do not know what *1dc/sc means. Could you explain how to make this stitch?

Well, dc means double crochet and sc means single crochet but I don't know what 1dc/sc means. Sorry.

Sometimes I look back at the last stitch when I'm crocheting which is ok sometimes but sometimes I look back at the last stitch when I don't need to. Like my Mom said 'Just Crochet'.

You might want to try hats.

Sorry I posted this twice. I thought I already posted it.

The only things that I can crochet are blankets. I've made a lot of simple baby afghans & regular sized patterns as a quilt/afghan. Scooters
