My idea on how to make your slippers have more of a cushion for your feet

If you have some batting or polyester fiberfill which is something like cotton put it in the bottom of your slipper.

I just trace my foot on some sponge & put it between two bottoms.

Cushioned shoe insoles work pretty good too.

You can always use a flip flop sole to sew the slipper to, or make an extra crocheted sole to hand sew on the bottom.
