After spending time at the oldest's last weekend I am catching up at home. The laundry room needed a go over so I have swept the concrete floor, did a wipe down of the washer and dryer and vacuumed the finished room in the basement. I have also worked on my living room, vacuuming, polishing furniture etc. I have company coming this weekend so I want as much done as possible before then.

    One Thing Leads to Another...

The repairman came yesterday. His wife came to assist him. The following repairs left my home looking fresh and revived:

    ~installed 3 new window blinds
~replaced light bulbs and ceiling lamps in the kitchen, family room and garage
~installed a new ceiling light cover
    ~installed a new ceiling fan
    ~installed two toilet seats
    ~rescreened a window
~put in a new patio light globe
~installed a new board under the kitchen sink

I bought new grey drapery that I put up last night in my bedroom. Also, I bought a silver grey pillow and a coral/jute rope too! My bedroom is looking very lovely! The colors being used are coral, grey and black.

Today is Wednesday and today I did the following. Cleaned two litter boxes, disposed of trash. I have also moved the fridge and stove and cleaned under both. Nothing major was found except for a spider. I also managed to move the freezer and clean under it. Wiped down the top of the fridge while I could reach it and moved everything back. I have also decluttered and packed some things up to be donated.

    Work Done Today...

I took care of the dishes, clerical work, laundry and swiffered the family room and hallway. I'll put fresh linen(my favorite set) on my bed before going to bed tonight. Instead of using the matching pillowcases, I'll use a new set that has the complementary color of the sheets.

I want to share my latest attempt at keeping my house in order. In my main bathroom is a closet that is a catch all closet that gets really messy. I took every container out and rearranged it all. It took me all day to finish the job! it was a horrendously big job! I labeled all the plastic containers with what they had in them. One big container had just toothbrushes and toothpaste! I believe I have a years supply of them! We are taught to keep a years supply of food so I guess keeping tooth supplies are important! If you ever need a toothbrush, come to my house in Utah and I'll give you one! ha ha!

Two more bags of donation went to charity this week. Sheets are changed, laundry done. I have also organized my yarn stash and donated a bag of yarn I do not need to someone I know who loves to crochet but sometimes cannot afford yarn. I have also organized and reduced the number of patterns that I have collected. Next it will be crochet hooks, some of which I have multiples of the same size. I am starting to enjoy a less is more decor and I slowly work to make sure that I do not replace what I get rid. So far, what I have gotten rid of I do not miss.
