Hi everyone!!
Hi, my name is marcie and brand new to crocheting. I am learning by watching youtube videos.....I have the chaining down, no problem however, I seem to be failing on the second row. Getting a little frustrated but I will continue to try because it says that it is a basic stitch....only not basic for me. Just wanted to vent a little...thanks for listening.

Hi Marci and Welcome..
after you do you chain, turn your work.
double crochet in second chain from hook and keep going..
hope this helps.
after that roll turn your work again and chain 2 and double crochet in first double crochet..keep repeating..

I feel so stupid it's just the single crochet...I guess there is a couple of different ways to do it. I tried both I think I'm getting it..it's just the turning over to start on the next row that I'm having a horrible time with.

Marcie We have all been there, we were all beginners at one point in time. Just keep practicing the hardest row is the first row you only have the chain to hold on to. Just Keep practicing we are all cheering you on (listen for the roar of the crochet talk crowd (RAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! GO MARCIE!))

Hi Marcie: Lots of us have crocheted forever and still need help! I tried to start what I thought was a really easy shawl pattern and ripped out and ripped out last night. Will try again today when mind might be clearer HAHA. Shirley
