My name is Julia but my nickname is Mersea and my profile name is often merseaone. I am about to turn 57, I am a self taught artist and trying to start an art biz, I taught myself to crochet when I was in either 6th or 7th grade. for a few years I had been crocheting lapghans and donating them to CHKD but now I donate them to the Oncology group I went to when going through chemo for Breast Cancer. Right now I am taking a break from that so I can update my wardrobe with lacy collars, shawls, tunics, and fingerless gloves. Great therapy!!!!

Hi Julia: Welcome! I am 65 and retired and make baby blankets and afghans for Project Linus. I broke my hip in August 2012 and probably have made 60 blankets in that time. I even made some little blankets for the NICUs. The Oncology group is a good place to donate to. I love knowing, I hope, that I bring some comfort to someone in need. Shirley
