I am a 70 year old male who had been knitting since I was 20 and crocheting since I was 25. I currently reside in Central Illinois. I always have enjoyed the relaxing time working with yarn and making something bring.
Humorous story: I once made a cable knit sweater for a female co-worker who was going on a ski vacation. She returned from her vacation complaining that she had been unable to wear the sweater. Convinced I had done something wrong, I questioned her about the problem. It turned out the temperature had never gone below 30 degrees F and the sweater was just too warm to wear. Several years later, I met her on the street and she said the sweater was perfect when the temperature dipped below 0.

Welcome Skip. I am glad to have you here..you story about the sweater was very nice..I bet it was as beautiful as it was warm. Only thing I ever knitted was a scarf when I was younger..straight knit.no pearl or fancy stitch..don't know how to do more than knit and pearl..lol, but I can tell ya ..it was one warm scarf..I had it for years till I moved to Florida..lol. I crochet now..and love it. I hope to see you on the th boards and look forward to seeing your beautiful creations. Hugs Anne
