    Hi I am new here and need some help.

    My name is Christine and I'm trying to make a name bookmark but I'm a bit confused by the directions I have. I am chaining 105 and the directions say that to make my first block I would go to the 9th chain but I am thinking it should be 8. Also after the first row I need to add a chain to the beginning of the second row. I am not sure how to accomplish this. If anyone can help me that would be wonderful. I have never recreated my own graph before; as a matter of fact I've only been crocheting a short time but have been enjoying myself very much making filet crochet patterns for pillows and wall hangings.

    Hey, first howdie and welcome, I filet crochet.....from what you are saying you are doing the bookmark longways yes? Are you pinning your last ch and making sure your first chain is your first block? Hope that makes sense....
