    this is my first time and really don't know much about crochet but I have a friend who is going to teach me really soon. I can knit though.

    Welcome you will love crochet. I believe it's easier than knitting for one reason, when you drop that one stitch it's easy to pick it up again. No major holes. Well at least after the first few attempts. Ha ha.
