    Hi, Jorae68, and Welcome!!

I am Landon and I am fairly new to crocheting myself.
How long have you been crocheting?
Can you post the pattern so we can see it?
We can help you better that way, and like MaryJane said,
with the Holidays it might take a little for you to get a response but don't despair, someone will!!

    Happy Crafting,
    Landon

I always chain 5 and slip stitch to make a circle. Chain 3 (that counts as the 1 dc) then dc 2 more time into the loop. chain 3 and do 3 more dc. do this 2 more times. slip st together and that should complete the 1st round Don't give up and welcome
