    Introduction

Hi! My name is knitnot and I am new to crocheting. I have only made a simple blanket for a child and have started a sweater, easy they said, but I am not doing to good. I am having a problem reading the pattern. I Think I will start something with a pattern I can read. I will keep trying. Hope everyone has a merry Christmas.

Thank you. I was writing this pattern out and in doing so I figured out what they wanted. So thank you again, I just needed to talk it through with someone.

There you go, see you can do it. And if not get help. Keep trying. It will be worth it. If a project is to much, try something simplier then come back to it. All kinds of things you can do just know you will get the hang of crochet some time. Sometime a pattern isn't right or just too hard for now. Also, reading every little comma, etc is very crucial. There are people here willing to help. Just hollar!

    Hi, knitnot,
You are brave. I don't know if I'd picked a sweater for my 2nd project. Be assured if you need help, someone here can & will help you. I've been crocheting for 37 years & I don't really like making sweaters. Lots of complicated increases & decreases usually. I crochet to relax, not to have it stress me out.
One thing you will find here is a sweet bunch of people, very caring & compassionate. There is a group you can join, if you have problems you need to discuss, a group for beginning crocheters like yourself. I think you will like it.
    Hugs, Jane

Hi knitnot and welcome! I don't know that I would pick a sweater for my second project either! Sounds like you figured it out though! So glad you joined us!
