Returning to crochet after 30 years

    Hi,
I have just relearned basic crocheting after a 30 year absence. It's almost all new for me and hard as I am left handed so instructional videos are rare. I would like information on the best way to add new yarn to a project when you run out of the original yarn. Do you knot, leave a tail and just start up as in knitting?
    Help.

Hello and welcome! We do also have some left handed videos listed on our site. Please let us know if you need help with anything! Please take a look at the Links and Resources section and there is a thread posted at the top of the list of left handed crochet helps.

    Smile Hey Thread.

Dear Thread: I am also left handed in crocheting and stitchery and right handed at knitting. They still can't figure that out in my stitching social group and i've been going for over 7 years. When crocheting, I don't knot but run a thread through the row beneath several stitches and hold on to it till a tail forms. Then when it is worked in for several stitches, keep crocheting. I found that if you knot it like in knitting, an unsightly bulge will appear and you don't want that either.
