    My first Double Crochet Square

    Hi, yawl,

I am practising double crochet and this sample is my smoothest yet, LOL I kept un doing the others, should have taken a couple of pics. Oh, well, life goes on.............

How does it look? It is fairly square, right? I like this stitch, it is kinda lacy in a way. I am working on making my TENSION even. My pieces have been looking almost fan like cos my foundation chain was tighter than the rest of the piece. I think this piece looks fairly even.

As I look at the pic of my sc and this dc, I can see the difference in the stitches.

    Happy Crafting,
    Landon

    Landon,

Your piece looks pretty good for beginning a new stitch. When I created my dishclothes, each one I did was better on tension and more square. Looks like you are off to a great start! Keep up the work! Thanks for sharing with us!

Looks great! I tend to get tighter as I crochet as I go. One thing that has helped me is to crochet the first few lines of my pattern until my tension evens out. I frog andwhen I continue it goes much better. Sometimes I need to do this at each sitting. I just look at it as being much like a musician who warms up before a performance.

I think your DC square looks pretty good. Maybe a couple extra stitches in the beginning? Otherwise it is a Square!

landon your doing an excellant job! when i started to crochet i tend to crochet a tight stitch--sometimes that is good and in something that you might wear like a hat or sweater it tends to be bad. keep up the great work!

Feel free to use the definition whenever you like! I myself saw it first somewhere on the internet. Glad you like it!
