need to know how to do this stitch

Hello everybody. I have been crocheting since i was 8 y.o. I'm 65 now, so thats a long time.

I found the cutest puppy pattern and one of the stitches used is a "loop stitch".

I don't have a clue how to do this. Does anyone know how to do it?

I used this stitch for Santa's beard. Once you get the hang of it it works up nicely.
