Hello crochet patterns 10, Glad to have you join us and welcome. Are you providing help with language or pattern instructions?

Hello and welcome to the crochet forums. Nice to have you here with us.

How long have you been crocheting? What is your latest project you are working on?

Translate to English from which languages and would that be a witten pattern or oral (as in video) or even a chart ?
I have tried those free online translators and they don't help, one reason seems to be the crochet terms are different. Thank you

Hello DorisAnn, I agree with you that the pattern instructions are lost in translation unless you are fluent in all languages and terms. I tried Google translate for a knitting pattern once and I got back some crazy instructions. For PASSO, K1, P1, SSK instructions. It was fun but no help at all. I don't have too much trouble with videos as you can see what the person is doing. The only problem I have in those videos is how many stitches you start with or what is the multiple as I don't speak that language.

It would be nice to have some help with those but I can't expect someone to translate a complete pattern for me that would be too much to ask. If I don't understand a stitch or an instruction and it is not too long then maybe I would ask. I appreciate all the work and effort that it takes for a person to translate for someone. I seem to be drawn to those difficult patterns and if I can look at the picture and almost figure it out I will try it. If I can't figure it out I will move on to something else.

Kudos to those that are willing to help others.
    Spoula
