Holiday doily patterns made into rugs

I altered some of my doily patterns for the holiday and made rugs out of them with 3 strands of worsted weight yarn and a p hook.

How'd you do it? I've wanted to make an afghan out of a few doily patterns, and couldn't figure the increases.

I did not have to alter the patterns that much. I just used the larger hook and 3 strands of yarn. The turkey I did make a couple of rows smaller then the doily and I did have to add some crochet chains extra. It might depend on the pattern you are using, and the size of the hook.

what a great idea. It is like the baby blankets they have now and you can see they were doily patterns. Who said that doilies can't be made into something else
