A Crochet Challenge DURING the Olympic Games

As everyone is probably aware by now, the 2012 Olympics are just around the corner. So how about a crochet challenge during tihs time?

    Here's how it would work.

    1) Each person would select the project that they feel they could complete within the specified period

    2) All supplies, notions etc should be purchased before the start of the challenge.

    3) All gauge swatches can be made before the challenge starts.

    4) When the 2102 Olympic opening Ceremonies start, you can start your project. The challenge is to complete the project in its entirety before the end of the closing ceremonies.

The dates for the Olympics are July 27th through August 12th.

So that gives everyone 19 days to complete their own personal crochet challenge.

Is anyone else willing to take part?

That's an interesting idea. I'll have to give it some thought and see what I could use as my project. Maybe those who do it would be willing to post pictures of their finished project. What a fun idea.

This is a great idea! I would also have to do some thinking and decide what I would have some time to work on as well. Thanks for the post!

Great Idea! I too will have to think about it! Right now I just make little things to sell! I'll have to come up with something bigger! I'll let you know!

I'm not sure what I'll use for my Olympic challenge this time around. In 2008 I challenged myself to design a a new afghan pattern.

I need to make an afghan for my son-in-law to be for Christmas. This will be a good time for me to do that. Thanks for the nudge.

At least I have a month to pick the pattern & buy the yarn! I wonder if anyone else has thought of a project yet. Not much of a challenge without other players! lol

I'm game...just gotta finish my flag afghan that I've started...It is for my daughter who has invited me to the horse races on the 4th of July. Shouldn't be a problem finding a new project or rather pull out one of the many I have already tried to line up to do... I will let you know what it is...beverly
