    looking for a giraffe pattern for an afghan

    I love giraffes they are my favorite animal ever. I have still yet to make myself a blanket. I want mine to have a giraffe on it if anyone knows a pattern I would be very happy thank you

    Have you considered making your own pattern? All you need to do is find a great photo that you want to use and enlarge it slightly so that it fits on an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of graph paper.

    Then use the grids on the graph paper as guides for the stitches and colour changes.

    Its simple graph crochet.

    You can decide how many stitches should be created for each square on the grid. I usually will use 3-4 sc per grid.

    Once you've finished the grid, you can then work a border around it.

    Or alternately, you can work the border as you go by adding additional grids all around the pattern.

    Just a tip for when you make this afghan.....

    ALL row counts are done for the afghan/tunisian stitch.
    ALL of the row counts can be converted for use with the single crochet stitch
    by reversing every other row to allow for the turning of the afghan.
