Volunteers Knit Baby Caps to Raise Awareness about Shaken Baby Syndrome
This is another great idea in using crocheting and knitting for charity:

What a great idea! Anything which raises awareness of this is a good thing, and parents are far more likely to pay attention to the message if it is handed over with an item that someone has taken the time to hand make. Knitters and crocheters (and crafters in general) are a very charitable bunch, aren't they?

Yes, it is amazing what I have learned about others who crochet for a cause, ect. There were more news items that I found about the crocheting and knitting, but did not want to post all of them at the same time. I did not want to overwhelm everyone, and give them a chance to review news pieces a few at a time. I have not heard of a group doing hats to prevent shaken baby syndrome before.

One of my knit/crochet local groups just finished the purple caps for shaken babies. I enjoyed making them, but sure wish such things weren't needed.

What an inspirational story. I wonder if anyone around here does this. Maybe the hospital here would sponsor something like this. Thanks for the idea, Barb.
