    Just a couple more pictures

Here is a close up of the cardigan I made. Also another water bottle holder I made for my oldest granddaughter they stretch quite a bit, and I also made some market bags for my granddaughter this one she has put her crochet in. Alyssa is teaching some of her friends at school how to crochet.

Grannyjenny- Again thanks for the photos of your work! Beautiful! I make water bottle holders and sell them at Craft Fairs! I made mine out of cotton yarn-they don't seem to stretch as much!

Maryjane people keep telling me I should sell the things I make. I just have no idea how to price it or anything. I have a project in line right now to make a necklace, I want to see how long it will take me to make and so forth, also i want to see if I can become good enough at making jewelry so that I can come up with something unique that maybe I can sell.

With the water bottle holder, the purple one was my first attempt, and I made it out of lions brand cotton, the blue is my second and I used some lion recycled cotton to make it. It seem to not be as stretchy. Any advice?

Grandmajenny-I usually use Peaches and Creme cotton yarn! I really don't have anything unique that I sell! And I sort of quess on the prices. I go to etsy.com to see what prices they are charging for similar items! I wasn't too sure about selling things either! But I love to crochet and my grandchildren were getting overloaded with things! So I took a leap of faith and registered my business and started selling! We will all be behind you if you decide to do it!

Thank you for your encouraging words, my grand kids, great nieces and nephews, and friends are getting overloaded too. I once crochet 15 head bands out of the school colors for all the little girls in my granddaughters 5th grade class at school. Everyone loved them and told me after the fact I should be selling them. I go into the store Justice with my granddaughter and see that crochet is everywhere, but I cannot compete with their prices, I don't even think sometimes that I can buy the yarn for the price they sell things for, even with all my coupon clipping. Macy's is full of beautiful crochet items also but for so cheap. I take pictures all the time and hope to become proficient enough to copy somehow or recreate the patterns. I am constantly searching the internet for patterns that are a little bit more up to date or reflective of what is being sold, on Chico's, Macys, or Justice, and don't really find anything close. The stores are definitely making their things out of lower weight yarn which I am not sure where to get either. Any suggestions?

Have you gone to etsy.com? You can get a sense of what other people are selling and what they charge! I have a feeling that people would pay more for an item that is handmade than a "machine made crocheted item" that is poorly made! People that go to craft fairs know the value of handmade items! I use yarn that I get at Walmart, Joann's. and AC moore! It is usually inexpensive. You may not be at the point that you feel confident about your abilities! I've have always wanted to sell my things but it was a while before I felt confident enough to do it!

Thanks Maryjane I think you are right I just need to get a bit more confident about my abilities, I only picked back up crochet a year ago, after over 30 years of not crocheting, and then I had only made ripple afghans or other types of blankets for my daughter when she was a baby or my nieces and nephews. Then I rarely finished anything. Now I seem to be able to finish things, although I rip a lot of things out, make a lot of mistakes. The internet is great I find a lot of how to's when I run across a stitch I am not sure of. I will look at etsy a little closer, I have ordered patterns from there, I would love to be able to make patterns and sell them, I just need to learn how and that of course as all things in crochet takes practice and patience.
