New Member here but Crocheted since 11 years old
Hello Everyone, I may be new here but am an avid crocheter. My grandmother taught me to chain and I had to push her to teach me how to turn. I asked her at the end of the day if I could take home one of her small doilies so I could make one to bring back to her the next day. She laughed at me, said I could, but I would not be able to bring her a doily because I couldn't even make a chain properly. Well, I'm stubborn. She had a new doily the next day. I'm a quick study and loved her and the craft enough to sit and meticulously count every stitch so I could show her I knew what I was doing. Now, almost 50 years later, I'm still crocheting, taught myself to read patterns, and am making stitches she never made. I know she would be proud.

I've crocheted doilies, filet items, baby afghans, larger afghans, hats...you name it...if I have a pattern, I think I've made it or at least attempted to make it.
