    Hello Blueirisheyes, i'm a newbie myself. Maybe we can learn from each other. You like to crochet? Knit? I do a little of both. No pro by long shot. lol. Made my grandson a blanket and looked like I had made it blindfolded. Daughter still used it for him. lol. I like to have fun with it.

    I found that I do best with an afghan hook. It makes a nice flat pattern and you can make different patterns in it. I had made my momma an afghan in 3 panels . 2 small ones and 1 large one to go in the middle. The small ones on the outsides I had made diamond patterns and in the middle panel I had patterned in the word MOM that ran diagonal from top to bottom. She loved it. That was quite a while back too. lol. I just play with hats, slippers and baby blankets right now. Want to learn how to make socks. Have everything to do it with. Just have to get my brain to say ok let's do it. lol
