Cool Hello to all. Happy New Year

When I was a child my friend's grandmother taught us how to crochet granny squares and we had loads of fun making blankets for our dolls. I only recently began to crochet again so need all the help I can get. I am trying to crochet slipper boots (cos they look so cool) but I am having trouble joining the chain to form a circle. I have to chain 30 and join in a ring but always seem to twist it and have to start again. Is there a trick to ensure the chain does not twist? Help!! Thanks

Welcome to the Forum. I crochet doilies. I think it does not matter if chain twists. But if you worry about it I can recommend you to crochet 30 SCs over chain 30 and after it join to the ring.

Welcome to crochet talk. There are lots of wonderful crocheters here.
When I have a long chain to join, I work the second row and then join. Then I go back when I'm finished and join the very first row with the beginning yarn tail. I always leave a long tail when I start a project. Hope this helps.
