    Picture Graph Maker

Is there such a program to create your own crochet graph? I've tried looking in up on line but I haven't come across what I'm looking for. I mean the one that uses the right pic language for sc etc that is universal? I heard there is something out there and I heard it's really expensive but I haven't been able to find it.(Not that I would be able to buy it) Maybe there are some free ones? Any input?

My husband helped me develop a working graph/chart by using Excel. You might want to try that.

This website has a graph maker that you can use.
You put the size of the stitches in the boxes [the first number is the height of the stitches and the second is the width of the stitches] and it figures out a graph for that number of stitches.
You can then put a drawing over the graph and get a nice guide for making pictures with yarn.
I have printed it with mylar sheets. I put the sheets over a picture and copied it on a color copier.
Presto! A knit graph to make whatever I want.
If you put the size of your crochet stitches you should get a good graph paper to use.

Excel! Oh thanks for the wonderful idea! I've been making my graphs using Word but have to type in my straight lines. With Excel they're already there. XOX Syl!

There is an expensive program you can buy that is called "cakewalk" I believe. It is actually for needlework, but you can do it using all single crochet. It has been a long, long time since I looked into it, so I hope it is still around out there somewhere.
