    Newbie here :)

Hello. My name is Heather. I just bought my first set of hooks and yarn about 3 weeks ago. I watched a few videos and then started practicing. I already have some questions but I will save that for the correct category.

My interest was peeked for crocheting when I seen a skull scarf and I thought "I should try to make that myself". So here I am. I started with a regular scarf to get the hang of the stitches. I have only done the single stitch so far.

I seem to have a harder tension. I do things hard and strong. Like when I write on a pad of paper you can read what I wrote a few pages down because I push so hard. I am trying to lessen my tension but I just go back to pulling to hard automatically without realizing it. It's probably fine for some things, but I see not for all things.

Hello and welcome to the crochet forums! We are glad you are here as a member!

One thing to remember when crocheting is to concentrate on relaxing, which may also help with your tension some.

Please make yourself at home and let us know if you need anything!

    Hello,

I use to do the same thing with the tension. You will find over time you will loosen up. Good luck with your projects.
