how to crochet with patons pirouette yarn

    Hello everyone,
Has anyone had any experience with this yarn? Since I do not knit, I would love to make a crocheted scarf from it.

    Hello Barbara,

I have not personally used this type of yarn. Other members may have and they will be checking in at different times. I am curious to here their responses. Thanks for asking!

Yes I have. They work up beautifully with an easy single crochet stitch. There's a demo on Youtube for Frill Seeker yarn which is similar to the Pirouette. I skip the second row and just make my scarf long enough that I can double it. They're really pretty! Good luck!

This is the link to the Youtube demo:

I have not seen this type of yarn before. It's gorgeous! Thanks so much for the YouTube show and tell. It explained well. Even though it has been a too warm TX Feb for scarves, I'm excited to try it. Can't imagine how much a skein costs, but probably would not take more than one skein. Thanks again.

I'm in Northern Virginia and a skein runs around 6.99 - 7.99 here. These scarves are very light weight. I've made my scarves around 6 ft. long and then double them instead of making the second row. They look great that way. I'm sure there's still enough yarn for a second scarf. I hope you enjoy your scarf as much as I have mine.

Your idea of doubling a single row is great - especially since the tutorial said the second row can be tedious/slow.
Being light weight sounds like it can be worn for a fashion statement instead of for warmth (which is not needed).
    Thanks for your info.

It looks like the Patons Pirouette yarn is very similar to the Red Heart Sashay yarn which I stock. Its a mesh type yarn

Here's a video on how to crochet with it

and another for those who want to knit

The technique is the same. Only the name of the yarn has been changed.
