    A recently released design!

One of my knitted stole/shawl designs has been released by the yarn company that commissioned me to make it. A recently released design!

This stole is made with two large needles although of different sizes, and is a pretty quick knit. It would make a lovely prayer shawl. The pattern is available at the link below for less than $6 and the pattern and yarn together as a kit are less than $30.

The yarn is a worsted weight yarn that is lightly twisted and has gradual colour changes throughout. I designed this for the beginner knitter who would like to make a lace shawl, but hasn't tackled lace knitting yet...because there is no challenging lace knitting involved. The knitting skills you need are:
    the knit stitch
    the purl stitch
    casting on
    binding off
    making a yarn over
inserting a needle into a group of stitches together as if they were one stitch and knitting it

    The Link to the Pattern

    P.S. I'm working on a crocheted version!

    Yes
I tried to do it with broomstick crochet, but it didn't look nice with the yarn the yarn company sent me, so I used a lacey stitch to create a similar look.

    Hi Charles,

Your scarf is beautiful! You are a very talented designer. I'm not a knitter, though I know how, so I'll wait to see the crocheted version. Thanks so much for posting!
    Hugs, Jo

I can't wait for the crocheted version, though I've been telling myself for 30+ years that I need to learn how to knit. I learned as a small child, but everything came out looking like Gumby's head.... My dad used to crochet, knit, and sew too. I think that's cool. :-)
