    Red face Craft Shows

Do any of you sell your crafts at Craft Fairs? If you do, what do you sell? I started a business about a year ago and sell at Craft Fairs. I make things mainly for children: dolls, toys, games, all crocheted. This year I'm adding a "Green Corner"-reusable and recycled items. It has been a lot of work but a lot of fun!

Thanks for the link Barbi! Being new to the forum, I didn't know this topic had been discussed before. But maybe I'll get other remarks by bringing it up again!

Check out the term "plarn" on the internet. It will lead you to patterns for bags and things made from plastic grocery bags. The patterns are easy and will definitely go nicely in your "green corner". Good luck with your enterprise.

    Craft Fairs

I have been selling at craft fairs for many years. I was designing vintage greeting cards, but last year, I started crocheting and showing my hats and scarves. One thing I have learned is that you never know what the day will bring. Some fairs are not well attended alas not many sales. Some are very profitable. I think it depends on who is sponsoring it and the publicity is key. My pet peeve is the cost of some of the fairs has gone up dramatacly. Sometimes, the group just wants as many vendor spots filled, and does not work hard for the crafter on publicity. Just my opinion.

I have done well at some fairs, and others not so much! I have found that if I make a number of things-one or two of each, instead of a lot of one thing, I should have at least one that somebody wants! It's so very hard to know what will sell at what Craft Fair! Tango1: I just took the plunge and jumped in with both feet-and a little faith in myself and started selling! You do need to check your city and state regulations on what you will need. There are several web sites out ther that are very useful. Google Craft Fairs and you should find something. Good luck!

I haven't done any craft shows in several years. I had fun doing them, but I always seem to be out of step with the current trends. Lol.

I don't sell things, just usually give them away, but I do have some people who want me to make some hats for them , who want to pay me to do it... I have no idea what I would charge for these things... like hello kitty, angry birds hat...
