    Hi Georgia Peach!
    Welcome to the forum!
inc means increase 6 stitches every round until you get 48 stitches. So it's saying to continue as established, meaning keep crocheting the pattern like you have been doing but crochet 2 of the stitches you have been doing in one of the stitches (one increase) six times until you get a total of 48 stitches. (the 60 in parentheses is for a larger size)

So if you have 36 stitches now you would add 6 stitches on one round=42 and six stitches on the next round = 48 by increasing (crocheting two stitches in one stitch) . Each increase will give you one extra stitch so you have to do this six times.

I would assume you would need to spread these increases out over the length of the row instead of all in one place.

If this doesn't make sense, please keep asking me questions until it does.
