    Question Cheri

I used the question mark Icon because I am pretty slow in figuring out how to follow and use sites. I like using my computer to interact with people and to use as a learning tool. I am a transplant to Florida (aren't most of us here?) My children are grown adults. The grandchildren are at the age they are too busy for grandma. My husband and I have raised 2 needy dogs that keep us busy. I crochet in spurts but I am always looking for easy patterns I can use as gifts.

I started crocheting with doilies. My husband's grandmother crocheted them and I asked her to teach me. The only problem was she didn't know what the stitches were called. She just made up patterns so that's what I did until I found someone who could tell me the stitches I was using My grandmother made beautiful doilies but I was too young to appreciate them until she was gone.

    Thanks for the welcome.
I like to see what others are making and get ideas for gifts. Notice I did not say crocheting. I am presently knitting a cape with ribbon thread. I saw one at a craft show and asked if anyone had seen any patterns for them. So far I haven't been told of any. I noticed one of the ladies at the show was knitting hers. So I kind of adapted my own version. Usually when I call something my own version it is because I made mistakes and it didn't come out right but was useable But this is really my own creation. Can't wait to see how it comes out.
