My name is Cher and I've been crocheting for about 40+ years now. I learned to knit first and was introduced to crocheting as borders, trims, etc to finish the knitted garments. I began to enjoy the crocheting more than the knitting and do more of it now than than knitting. Since my hands are very arthritic, I find crocheting easier. Have you tried the wonderful new hook sets with the padded handles? They're great. Funny story. I was crocheting an edging on a sweater while flying from FL to Buffalo for Christmas. They wouldn't let us land and we circled for almost an hour.While we were circling, the flight attendant came over and asked if I would show her how to do a double crochet. I didn't know how as I did mostly knitting at that time, but the lady sitting next to me said she would show us if she could use my yarn. So I learned to double crochet while circling N.Y.
