How to Join Different Colors of Yarn Without Weaving in Ends

    twist: Russian Join

I so dislike having to weave the ends in whenever I'm changing colors or starting a new skein of yarn on a project. It seems like no matter how careful I am, the ends still seem to work their way out, especially after washing my item (*snip* *snip* *sigh*).

I ran across this great idea on Pinterest.com and wanted to share it with y'all. I love Pinterest! There are the most awesome free patterns and wonderful crochet project ideas on the site.

Wow, interesting! Very helpful too. I admit I'm not very good at adding colors or new yarn at all lol. I usually just tie it because I'm paranoid it'll unravel!

This join is the neatest thing I have ever seen. I hate snipping ends after something is washed too. I'll pass this on to other family members. maspuds

This is a wonderful way to add new colors without the unraveling. Yes, it does work.

I have not mastered this and Youtube has videoes on it. There is a square knot join and I use that. I hate the tails too so I use that if I can hide the small knot it makes.

Here is a great video about how to change colors in crochet without knots. It is an easy method, and you will not have any ends left to weave in. I've used it many times. It is sturdy and doesn't come undone at all.

Every since I saw the video how to do the russian join it is the only way i use to change yarn whether I'm adding a skien or changing colors. So far I have not had it come undone. LOVE LOVE LOVE this way of joinging yarn! It makes your work look flawless too.
